Supporter of graham cleghorn seriously concerned for his wellbeing

A supporter of a New Zealand man convicted and jailed for rape in Cambodia says there are serious concerns for his wellbeing.

A court in Cambodia yesterday threw out Graham Cleghorn's appeal against five rape convictions handed down in 2004.

One of his lawyers says defence witnesses were not able to be heard at the appeal hearing.

A supporter, Lynley Hood, says Cleghorn's family is afraid he will die in prison, without receiving a fair trial.

Lynley Hood says Cleghorn's family is devastated by the verdict.

Cleghorn's lawyers are now considering taking the case to the Supreme Court in Cambodia.
